First Article Idea

I plan on writing my article on a speech being given by Doris Kearns Goodwin at SIU February 5th. I have tickets to the event and an invite to a special pre-speech interview with Mrs. Goodwin via my HIST 400 class. I hope to interview Mrs. Goodwin herself before the speech, students attending the event, and administration hosting the event. Mrs. Goodwin is a Pulitzer Prize winning author, New York Times bestseller, and esteemed orator, it should be a good show!

    Justin - keep in mind this first assignment is an event preview, not the event itself. However, if you can preview this, you may also be able to cover it for your next assignment, which is a meeting or speech.

    (For the preview, you may not be able to include Goodwin, unless you are able to interview her a day or so in advance. You can interview those hosting the event, students who will attend, your history prof, etc., and include some background about Goodwin.)
